Join us Saturday at 5 pm or 7 pm for Carols, Communion, and Candlelight. At 5pm there will be a Children’s sermon, but both services are family friendly.
Sunday, we will worship at 10:30am–just one service this week.
Our regular worship schedule will resume January 1.
This summer, we collected photographs, drawings, poems, and stories of your thoughts and memories about Christmas and Advent. And (finally) the book is here!
You may pick up a copy in the office. We are not charging for the books in the office; however, you will find in each copy a donation envelope. Donations will be divided between covering the costs of printing and the Boys and Girls Club of Beaufort. Once the printing is fully covered, all proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club.
Copies are also available at Amazon. We’ve had to put a price on these that just covers the expense. Donations to the church or the Boys and Girls Club can be made by sending them to the church at 417 Ann Street, Beaufort NC 28516. Don’t forget to indicate where you’d like the money to go.
Ann Street Church has been asked to help Pamlico County flood victims with food. We are asking church members and friends to bring canned vegetables, fruits and canned meats to church on Sunday, September 11th. There will be plastic bins in the foyer of the Eure Building and sanctuary and a box in the back of the church at the volunteer desk.
The following events have been cancelled due to the possibility of bad weather:
1. The luncheon scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled at a later date.
2. Promotion Sunday for children’s Sunday School has been postponed until September 4th.
3. MYF has been cancelled for Sunday night. Parents Night will be September 11th.
As of Thursday afternoon, Worship Services and Sunday School will be at their regular times. Use your best judgment!
Reviewing their test
On August 20, 2011, 21 people attended training to become certified as members of Ann Street’s Early Response Team. ERTs enter disaster areas as soon as possible behind emergency services providers and do assessments for future teams, take care of urgent needs, such as tarping roofs, and work with disaster survivors. We are proud of all our new team members, and hope they won’t have to use their skills often.
Ann Street's team, all lined up
The Parents Night originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 23 has been moved to MONDAY, August 22 at 6 pm because of BES Open House. Please try to spread the word to the parents who might not see our newsletter or bulletin.

Ann Street is working on publishing an Advent book of devotions and reflections, and we need your help! Submissions may be visual (drawings, photos, etc–they will be printed in black and white) or written. We are looking for 100-400 words about Advent or Christmas, your thoughts on a theme, idea, memory, story, Bible verses, or a song. See Pastor Anne in the office for some ideas! Submissions are due the first week of September.
Please contact Pastor Anne in the office or comment below to let us know that you are participating in this project! Thanks to all who have already volunteered.
